It was a glorious, sunny day at Sloan Park today in Mesa, Arizona. The City of Mesa held a family-friendly fiesta for the world champion Chicago Cubs. I wasn’t sure what to expect going into today and, admittedly, the Cubs weren’t on the actual stage for long. Like maybe two minutes (of which you can watch here). But the culmination of the stunning weather, the Cubs holding batting and fielding practice on the real stage – Sloan Park’s field – and that Trophy, oh man, that shiny Trophy, all combined into one very cool celebration for the Cubs’ Wrigleyville West fans.
