Cubs upgrade playoff-caliber rotation with $32 million deal for John Lackey

According to a report, the Cubs have agreed to a two-year deal with veteran starting pitcher John Lackey.

Fox Sports' Ken Rosenthal reports that the deal will be between $32-$34 million.

The 37-year-old Lackey started 33 games for the St. Louis Cardinals last season and compiled a 13-10 record with a 2.77 ERA and 1.21 WHIP. Lackey had a strikeout/walk ratio of 175/53.
