CHICAGO -- The Chicago Cubs acquired right-handed pitcher Spencer Patton from the Texas Rangers for minor league infielder Frandy Delarosa, the team announced Friday afternoon.
Patton, 27, is an Illinois native with 36 appearances in the big leagues over the past two seasons. He was 1-1 with a 9.00 ERA in 27 games with the Rangers in 2015. He gave up 24 hits and 24 runs in 24 innings pitched.
Patton is the third reliever the Cubs have picked up over the past couple of days as they continue to build depth in their pitching staff.
