The Cubs announced Friday the team signed RHP Jonathan Pettibone to a minor league contract. Pettibone was one of 18 players that received a non-roster invite to big league camp.
The 25-year old right hander was selected by the Phillies in the third round of the 2008 draft. Pettibone spent his career in the Phillies organization but did not pitch last season after undergoing his second shoulder surgery.
Pettibone missed a majority of the 2014 season after undergoing shoulder surgery to repair a torn labrum. Pettibone was unable to pitch last season.
