Alec Mills struck out six over six shutout innings to lead the Cubs to a 3-0 win over Cincinnati. The bullpen also stepped up as Duane Underwood, Ryan Tepera, and Jeremy Jeffress each had scoreless innings.
On the offensive end, David Bote and Javier Baez each got run scoring triples over former friend Nick Castellanos in right field.
Tomorrow night Yu Darvish goes up against Trevor Bauer in the second game of the three game series. The Cardinals split a doubleheader with Minnesota so the division lead for Chicago increases to three games.
