More than three months ago, Ben Zobrist was given a personal leave of absence and placed on the restricted list. Through the month of August, he played 12 games on rehab assignment and hit .189/.333/.405 (7-for-37, with eight walks, two doubles and two home runs.
Don’t put too much stock in those numbers. Rehab assignment games and at-bats are more about the process than the results.
Tonight, the Cubs announced that Ben will rejoin the team:
