According to an update on 670 The Score, the Cubs signed LHP Nick Greenwood to a minor league contract. The Cubs have not confirmed the signing.
Nick Greenwood was selected by the Padres in the 14th round of the 2009 draft. Greenwood was part of the three-team trade with the Indians in July 2010 that landed RHP Jake Westbrook with the Cardinals and OF Ryan Ludwick with the Padres.
Greenwood has appeared in 20 games with one start at the Major League level over two seasons with the Cardinals.
