Cubs Recall Nate Pearson, DFA Génesis Cabrera

The Génesis Cabrera experiment has come to an end. After allowing a three-run home run in his second straight appearance, the Cubs have designated him for assignment. Cabrera posted an 8.68 ERA during his time in Chicago, allowing four home runs over nine outings. His 2.65 HR/9 could only last so long on a major league roster, although we’ll see if he lands somewhere else after his departure from the Cubs.

As the corresponding move, Nate Pearson is back in the big leagues. He has a 2.22 ERA with the Iowa Cubs this season, including 29 strikeouts in 24.
