Chris Flexen pitched in 21 games for the Cubs, logging 43.2 innings with 22 strikeouts. He served as a solid option to provide manager Craig Counsell with multiple innings, but he has posted a 7.98 ERA over his last five appearances (14.2 innings).
Gavin Hollowell, called up from Iowa, has performed well during his brief stint in Chicago. The right-hander has a 1.26 WHIP over just 6.1 innings with the big league club.
