After a leadoff home run Joe Panik and two spectacular defensive plays by Addison Russell and Albert Almora Jr. in the top half of the first, the Cubs found themselves trying to play catch up and come from behind yet again this year. Panik pretty much was the sole offense for the San Francisco Giants on Monday night by going 3-4 with 2 Runs and 2 RBI’s. 2 of the 3 hits that Panik had were home runs (9 on the season) off John Lackey and Brian Duensing.
