Cubs purchased RHP Alex Sanabia from Mexican League, signed to a minor league contract
The Cubs added a veteran right-hander to the organization last week. The Cubs purchased the contract of Alex Sanabia from Toros de Tijuana of the Mexican League. The 27-year old right hander was assigned to Triple-A Iowa and made his organizational debut Sunday in Reno.
The Marlins selected Sanabia in the 32nd round of the 2006 draft. Sanabia appeared in 28 games, 24 starts, with the Marlins over three big league seasons (2010-11, 2013). Sanabia owns an 8-10 record with a 4.
