We’ve been writing about this as the best move for the roster, and now it looks like the Cubs agree. As Bleacher Nation’s Michael Cerami tweeted Tuesday afternoon, the team is planning to remove Trey Mancini from the roster via either DFA or release.

Mancini has struggled all year and this move become all too logical once the acquisition of Jeimer Candelario necessitated a spot on the active roster.
