Cubs pitchers can’t find command in 6-4 loss to the DBacks

PHOENIX – When your success relies on command, when that command goes astray, it can make for a frustrating afternoon. That was how things went for starter Zach Davies in Sunday’s 6-4 loss to the DBacks. The Cubs’ right-hander never found the command of his pitches and went into several deep counts on the afternoon.

The game looked like it was going to get away from Davies and the Cubs in the fourth inning as he walked the leadoff hitter, Eduardo Escobar. Escobar would come around to score on Pavin Smith’s RBI-single and loading the bases with nobody out.
