MILWAUKEE – Cubs left-hander Shota Imanaga is scheduled to start Game 2 of the NLDS against the Brewers on Monday, manager Craig Counsell announced.

It will be Imanaga’s second appearance of the postseason. He also took the ball last Wednesday against the Padres in Game 2 of the wild-card series, after right-hander Andrew Kittredge served as the opener for the first inning.

Imanaga pitched four innings and gave up a two-run home run to Manny Machado as the only runs he allowed, as the Cubs fell to the Padres 3-0.

“He doesn’t sometimes come across as this fierce competitor because he’s really joyful on the mound,” Counsell said.
