Cubs left-hander Justin Steele had been away from the team long enough. And, to be honest, it was getting uncomfortably hot in Arizona, where he’d been living and rehabbing from season-ending elbow surgery.
“It feels great here,” he said of the blustery Chicago weather Tuesday before the Cubs’ 4-3 win against the Rockies in 11 innings.
Steele joined the team for the homestand this week at Wrigley Field, reconnecting with the group after his mid-April operation.
“It’s been awesome,” Steele said, addressing reporters from in front of his locker for the first time since landing on the injured list.
