Welcome back. When last we looked back at these 2003 Cubs, they’d won four of nine on a late August road trip. For the second consecutive stretch of games, the Cubs had done the minimum to stay in contention in the hotly contested National League Central. But with only 30 games remaining, sitting in third place, one and a half behind. Their slate of games against the Astros was done and they had just five games left against the Cardinals.
So, this time we’ll look at the Cubs coming home for eight games.
