Cubs have rough night in Queens after dropping third straight game, series to the Mets

NEW YORK – Things have not gone well for the Cubs during their series against the Mets and whether it’s a bad inning, scuffling offense or another nagging injury, it hasn’t been a road trip of good fortune.

Wednesday’s 6-3 loss to the Mets didn’t veer from the script as very little went right as the Cubs dropped the series with their third consecutive loss.

It wasn’t going to be easy in any form or fashion going up against Mets ace Jacob deGrom. deGrom is the game’s best pitcher and showed why over three innings. deGrom was untouchable and after getting Anthony Rizzo to fly out at the wall in the first inning, the two-time NL Cy Young winner went into domination mode and began mowing down Cubs’ hitters.
