Cubs finally reveal Cade Horton replacement for Game 1 start vs. Padres

Cade Horton won't be making the start for the Chicago Cubs in Game 1 against the San Diego Padres, and the team has officially announced his replacement. Matthew Boyd will be on the bump for the Cubs on Tuesday as they open their National League Wild Card series. On the mound for the Padres will be Nick Pivetta.

The decision to sign Boyd looked like a stroke of genius for Jed Hoyer during the first half of the season. Boyd was named to the National League All-Star game while posting an ERA of 2.
