The Cubs delivered an offseason splash Wednesday that shook up what had been a mild offseason so far for the club.

The Cubs are acquiring right-hander Edward Cabrera from the Marlins, sources confirmed. In return, according to multiple reports, they’re sending their No. 1 prospect, outfielder Owen Caissie, to Miami, along with middle infielder Cristian Hernández (No. 11prospect) and minor-league infielder Edgardo De Leon.

With Cabrera, 27, the Cubs land a power arm with plenty of upside. He posted a 3.53 ERA last season while shouldering the highest workload (137 u2154 innings) of his professional career.
