MINNEAPOLIS – The Cubs’ 4-2 loss Wednesday to the Twins ensured a series loss to the third-place team in the American League Central.
The Cubs wrap up the three-game set Thursday afternoon, battling to avoid a sweep.
For the second straight game, the Cubs offense, which entered Wednesday ranked second in the majors in runs, didn’t come up with the big hit.
“It was a quiet night again,” manager Craig Counsell said after the game. “The Twins have a very good bullpen, so it’s inherent that you get their starters.
