MILWAUKEE – The Cubs’ jubilation in the first inning made the pummeling that much more brutal.

As Seiya Suzuki’s three-run blast to left field touched down on American Family Field’s Miller Lite Landing, it represented a momentary breakthrough. The Cubs were getting on base and scoring in bunches.

But wait.

In a 7-3 loss, the Brewers couldn’t even let the Cubs have that.

Milwaukee punched back with more power to take a 2-0 lead in the National League Division Series.

In a best-of-five set, the Cubs will have to win out to advance.
