The threat of heavy rain and severe thunderstorms in the Chicago area Monday evening has prompted the Cubs to postpone the scheduled 6:40 p.m. game against the Dodgers at Wrigley Field.
The Cubs had gone through the first 28 games of 2021 without even a rain delay, which is somewhat unusual for April weather in Chicago (and Pittsburgh, Atlanta and Cincinnati, the outdoor road venues where they’ve played so far).
The game will be made up as part of a split doubleheader Tuesday, with Game 1 at 1:20 p.m. CT and Game 2 at 6:40 p.m. CT.
