Cubs Cut Seven Players from Spring Roster, Option Vogelbach, Acevedo, Jokisch to Triple-A

The Cubs announced the second round of spring roster cuts on Monday. The Cubs cut seven players from the Spring Training roster, which officially stands at 56 players.

The Cubs optioned 1B Dan Vogelbach, RHP Andury Acevedo and LHP Eric Jokish to Triple-A Iowa. The Cubs re-assigned non-roster invitees RHP Duane Underwood Jr., RHP Armando Rivero, LHP Jack Leathersich and RHP Jonathan Pettibone to minor league camp.

The moves the Cubs made Monday were expected.

Jack Leathersich and Jonathan Pettibone are rehabbing injuries and will start the minor league season on the disabled list.
