CINCINNATI – Cubs catcher Miguel Amaya left the game Saturday against the Reds in the fifth inning with an apparent injury.

With no outs in the inning, speedy Reds star Elly De La Cruz took off from first base in a 1-1 count to Austin Hays.

Hays turned away from the high and inside fastball, and Amaya made the throw down to second around him. De La Cruz slid in safely on the steal.

Head athletic trainer Nick Frangella jogged out to examine Amaya after the play. Amaya extended both hands over his head.
