ST. LOUIS -- It's not the type of game you'd expect when Chicago Cubs star Jake Arrieta takes the mound: Lots of runs for both teams, though the Cubs survived 9-8 over the St. Louis Cardinals to take two of three in the series. The Cy Young Award winner has been trending the wrong way for a while, but he's been able to dominate mostly on secondary pitches and know-how.
None of that seemed to work Wednesday; Arrieta barely made it through five innings giving up four runs on seven hits.
