Cubs announce flurry of roster moves, outright Terrence Gore off 40-man roster

The Cubs announced a flurry of roster moves on Friday, outrighting pinch-run specialist Terrance Gore as well as infielder Mike Freeman off of the 40-man roster. Additionally, the team activated Yu Darvish, Brandon Morrow, Justin Hancock and Mark Zagunis off of the 60-day DL and claimed infielder Jack Reinheimer off waivers from the New York Mets

While Gore and Freeman are now on outright waivers, the Cubs could still retain them. If none of the other 29 MLB teams claim either player, the Cubs could outright them to the minor leagues.

The Cubs acquired Gore in August and made an instant-impact on the basepaths for the team in September.
