The Cubs continued to add to their bullpen this week, reaching an agreement on a one-year contract with right-handed reliever Jacob Webb, a source confirmed Tuesday.
The deal, when finalized, will include a $1.5 million base salary for 2026 and a $2.5 million club option for 2027, the source confirmed. Incentives for games pitched could raise Webb’s 2026 earnings by up to an additional $500,000.
Webb, 32, owns a career 2.99 ERA over parts of six seasons with four different teams. This past year with the Rangers, he pitched a career-high 66 innings in the majors.
