Cubs add Hernán Pérez to their player pool, nine spots remain open

The Cubs added utility player Hernán Pérez to their player pool, the team announced Wednesday. He joined the team at Wrigley field for workouts that afternoon.

Pérez, 29, signed with the Cubs as a fee agent in December and was a non-roster invite in Spring Training. With his addition this summer, the Cubs have filled 51 of the spots in their 60-player pool.
