Cubs activate Tyson Miller from the IL and DFA him.

Miller was on the 60-day IL with the Cubs, meaning this move has no impact on the 40-man roster. He hadn’t pitched since May 31, posting a 2.77 ERA over 13.0 innings with the Iowa Cubs. While the ERA may not seem worrisome, his 1.69 WHIP is one of several causes for concern. Craig Counsell’s bullpen has been extremely effective lately, leaving no room for Miller to make a potential return.
