The Cubs placed Daniel Palencia on the injured list in early September due to a shoulder issue that occurred after he exited a game against the Nationals mid-outing. He has logged 51 innings this year with a 3.00 ERA and 59 strikeouts. Even before the injury, he appeared fatigued and less effective. After a few weeks off, he is now ready to help the Cubs close out the season before the playoffs.
