The Cubs’ most obvious need going into trade deadline week was pitching. And they continued to address that need with their second move Wednesday.
The Cubs are acquiring veteran reliever Andrew Kittredge from the Orioles, according to multiple reports Wednesday night – after right-hander Michael Soroka became the Cubs’ first trade deadline addition.
Baltimore’s trade return from the Cubs was not immediately clear.
Kittredge, in his ninth major-league season, has recorded a 3.56 ERA for the Orioles this year. The 35-year-old appeared in the playoffs two of the past three seasons, in 2021 and 2023 with the Rays, tossing 4 u2153 scoreless innings combined.
