OSS: Cubs sweep away Beers.
Three up:
- Jason Heyward had a big day, homering on the first pitch and hitting a RBI triple in his next PA. He also homered in Friday’s game, and his season line now sits at .276/.353/.472.
- Yu Darvish had another great outing, striking out eight beers against no walks and one Yelich solo shot in five innings. Darvish was pitching through an illness, maybe the same thing that sidelined Lester last week, but you can’t really tell from his line. Since the ASB, he has struck out 38 batters and walked just two, which is certainly a far cry from what the Cubs were getting earlier in the year.
