Well, the Cubs won’t be facing Jake Arrieta. Neither will anyone else, as he’s out for the year. That sucks — Jake’s still one of my favorite players. I bet he’s horrible when he isn’t playing, though. All of that drive and glowering intensity, with no outlet... best to the missus. He’ll have to take up competitive shuffleboard or something.
Just FYI — Netflix is streaming a film called Screwball, which covers the PEDs era (specifically Anthony Bosch and Alex Rodriguez). Rotten Tomatoes says good things about it. I plan to screen it as part of a double feature with The Bingo Long Traveling All-Stars and Motor Kings, which is one of the best baseball pictures ever.
