Contreras slugs slam vs. crosstown-rival Sox

CHICAGO -- Willson Contreras hit his second homer of the season in the first inning on Friday, and it was grand.

Contreras smacked his second career grand slam and the first by a Cubs player this season off White Sox starter Carson Fulmer with one out in the first to open a 5-0 lead.

The Cubs had taken a 1-0 lead on Anthony Rizzo's RBI single. One out later, Kyle Schwarber walked to load the bases, and Contreras followed with the slam, which sailed 393 feet into the basket rimming the outfield wall in left-center.
