Chicago Cubs Score and Recap (9/6/25): Nationals 2, Cubs 1 – Seven Walks Wasted in Loss

The Cubs and Nationals played the second game of their series on Saturday afternoon at Wrigley Field. Chicago had more issues generating offense and came up on the wrong end of a low-scoring affair.

Washington jumped on starter Matthew Boyd in the opening inning with four total hits, including an RBI single by Jorge Alfaro that gave them a 1-0 advantage. The North Siders did their only damage against Brad Lord in the bottom of the 2nd when Pete Crow-Armstrong doubled and eventually scored the tying run on a Carson Kelly groundout.
