The Cubs continued to embrace their role as spoilers Saturday in St. Louis. An early power surge against Adam Wainwright was just enough to give Chicago a series win.
Kyle Schwarber gave the Cubs a lead with a solo homer in the top of the 1st. Ian Happ extended the lead with a two-run tank to right in the 3rd inning. Cole Hamels was sharp in what might be his final start for the Northsiders.
Happ went to left for his second homer against Wainwright in the 5th; the two-run shot was followed by a Victor Caratini jack to build a 6-0 lead.
