The Cubs and Reds met in the finale of their series at sunny Wrigley Field Wednesday afternoon. Chicago was the beneficiary of a power surge that allowed them to salvage a win and avoid the sweep.
The North Siders struck first against Andrew Abbott in the bottom of the 3rd with a sacrifice fly by Seiya Suzuki. Cade Horton did a great job yet again Wednesday, throwing 5.2 scoreless innings to protect the 1-0 lead.
Suzuki added some insurance with a solo home run off of Abbott in the bottom of the 6th.
