The Cubs were hoping to get back in the win column Friday after their six-game winning streak was snapped the night before. Chicago went back to the winning formula of an excellent start and timely offense to pick up another victory.
Both starting pitchers, Marcus Stroman and Alex Cobb, were very good Friday night as they matched zeros through the first four innings. Patrick Wisdom gave the Cubs the lead in the 5th inning when he got a home run just over the left-field wall for a solo shot.
