The Cubs and White Sox battled in the deciding game of their series at Rate Field Sunday afternoon. The North Siders went ahead early before having to hold on and came out on top thanks to a very strange play late in the game.
The Cubs grabbed the lead against opener Grant Taylor when Pete Crow-Armstrong hit a perfectly placed grounder down the third base line for a two-run double that made it 2-0 in the top of the 1st. Ben Brown allowed a home run to Andrew Benintendi in the bottom of the inning, but the big righty did a great job from there on out by going five frames and giving up just the one run.
