The Cubs and Yankees met in the second game of their series at Yankee Stadium Saturday afternoon. Chicago got an outstanding pitching performance from their All-Star starter and picked up an important win.
Nico Hoerner got things started immediately against Yanks ace Max Fried with a leadoff triple, then came in to score on a groundout by Kyle Tucker. The North Siders had a big inning in the 3rd, crossing the plate three times. Carson Kelly had an RBI infield single, Dansby Swanson brought home another on a forceout, and Ian Happ knocked in one more with a hit to make it 4-0.
