The Cubs welcomed the second place Brewers to Wrigley Tuesday night to start an important three-game series. Chicago landed the big blow in the middle innings to take the lead and held on to win.
Milwaukee went out in front in the top of the 2nd when Isaac Collins hit a two-run homer off of Ben Brown to make it 2-0. The North Siders cut the deficit in half on an RBI double by Matt Shaw against starter Chad Patrick in the bottom of the frame.
The Cubs got runners on second and third with one out in the bottom of the 5th for Seiya Suzuki, who pounded a low fastball from Patrick for a go-ahead three-run homer to left that gave the home team a 4-2 advantage.
