The Cubs were greeted rather rudely in their series opener against the Mets at Citi Field Friday night. New York hit four home runs off of starter Jameson Taillon and coasted to an easy victory.
Francisco Lindor homered to lead off the bottom of the 1st and it was only the beginning. Brett Baty and Jeff McNeil each hit their own solo shots in the 2nd to put the Mets on top 3-0. Clay Holmes was much sharper than Taillon and kept the Cubs scoreless early.
New York loaded the bases with one out in the bottom of the third and Luisangel Acuña hit a ground ball to second that Chicago attempted to turn into a double play.
