The Chicago Cubs and Colorado Rockies met in the finale of their three-game series at Wrigley Field Wednesday night. The Cubs were looking for the sweep, but in the end, the Cubs’ pitching helped them win a close contest.
Seiya Suzuki stayed hot with an RBI double against Tanner Gordon in the bottom of the 1st inning to give the North Siders a 1-0 lead. Matthew Boyd was dominant early, giving up only a single to Colorado through the first four frames.
Pete Crow-Armstrong doubled the Cubs’ advantage with a solo shot to right off Gordon in the 4th.
