The Cubs wasted no time jumping all over the Brewers at American Family Field on Friday night. Chicago piled up nine runs in the first two innings to bury Milwaukee and win the series opener going away.
Tyler Alexander served as the opener for the Brew Crew and Carson Kelly hit a bloop RBI single off of him to end his outing. Quinn Priester took over and was greeted by a Nico Hoerner run-scoring knock to give the Cubs a 2-0 lead after the 1st inning.
The North Siders went off against Priester in the top of the 2nd inning, hitting a single with two walks to load the bases with nobody out.
