The Cubs welcomed the Marlins to fog draped Wrigley Wednesday night with a chance to complete a three-game sweep. Chicago just could not get their bats going in this one and the road team salvaged a win in the finale.
Jameson Taillon continued to struggle with the home run ball in this one, giving up a solo shot to Kyle Stowers in the top of the 2nd inning. Augstín Ramírez and Stowers each went deep again in the 4th to put Miami in front 3-0.
Marlins’ starter Ryan Weathers was really good in his first start of 2025, but Seiya Suzuki did take him deep in the bottom of the 4th to cut the North Siders’ deficit to 3-1.
