Chicago Cubs Score and Recap (5/11/25): Mets 6, Cubs 2 – 4-Run 8th Inning Dooms Cubs

The Cubs and Mets played the rubber match of their series at Citi Field Sunday afternoon. It was an evenly matched game until the home team prevailed in a battle of the bullpens.

New York grabbed the lead in the bottom of the 2nd when catcher Luis Torrens hit an RBI triple off of Matthew Boyd. Griffin Canning completely dominated the North Siders through the first five frames, allowing just an infield single.

Boyd pitched well to keep the Cubs within a single run and Pete Crow-Armstrong crushed a game-tying solo home run in the 6th.
