Chicago Cubs Score and Recap (2/28/20): Cubs 1, Padres 5 – Early Run Represents Entire Offense

The Cubs lost to the Padres in a relatively quiet game Friday evening in Peoria. Arizona, not Illinois. Things started quickly against former Brewer Zach Davies, with leadoff man Kris Bryant scoring on an Anthony Rizzo double. After striking out Fernando Tatis Jr., starting pitcher Tyler Chatwood gave up a home run to Trent Grisham but allowed no more damage in the inning.

Rotating through pitchers and players in classic spring training fashion, the Padres opened up the scoring in the bottom of the 6th. Cubs reliever Jason Adam loaded the bases, giving up an RBI to catcher Luis Torrens.
