Right-hander Nick Dean was promoted to High-A South Bend from Myrtle Beach. In a corresponding move, left-hander Angel Hernandez was demoted down to Low-A Myrtle Beach from South Bend.

The Iowa Cubs edged past Indianapolis (Pirates), 8-7 in 11 innings.
Cade Horton had his best start in Triple-A, allowing two runs on four hits over five innings. One of the four hits was a solo home run. Horton struck out six and walked just one batter.
Ethan Roberts pitched the tenth inning and allowed a run, but came back out for the eleventh after Iowa scored in the bottom of the inning.
