The Tennessee Smokies shelled the Biloxi Shuckers (Brewers), 7-4. The win snapped Tennessee’s five-game losing streak.
Matt Swarmer started and gave up three runs, two earned, over 4.2 innings. Swarmer gave up a solo home run in the second and a two-run home run in the third to account for all three runs allowed. Swarmer allowed five hits and two walks while striking out five.
Scott Effross pitched the final two innings without allowing a run and collected the win.
