The Iowa Cubs were spanked by the New Orleans Baby Cakes (Marlins), 9-5.
Adbert Alzolay made his Iowa debut this season and it didn’t go all that well. Alzolay gave up six runs on four hits over four innings. Two of the four hits he allowed were home runs. One of the six runs Alzolay allowed was unearned. Alzolay struck out six and walked three. He also hit one batter.
Second baseman Robel Garcia hit his first career Triple-A home run in the sixth inning with the bases empty.
